Maa bhi rani, dhee bhi rani, kaun leavai khunu panni

ਮਾਂ ਭੀ ਰਾਣੀ, ਧੀ ਭੀ ਰਾਣੀ, ਕੌਣ ਲਿਅਾਵੇ ਖੂਹੋ ਪਾਣੀ

Maa bhi rani, dhee bhi rani, kaun leavai khunu panni.

Maa (mother) bhi (also) dhee (daughter) bhi (also) rani (queen) kaun (who) leavai (fetch) khunu (from a well) panni (water).

Meaning: If mother and daughter think like a queen than who will bring water from the well.

In other waters, if all consider themselves special, who will do the the necessary menial work.

 ਅਾਪ ਨਾਂ ਵਸੀ ਸੌਹਰੇ ਲੋਕੀ ਮੱਤਾਂ ਦੇ

aap na vssi sauherrai lokkee mattan de

aap (herself) na vssi (could not stay) lokkee (other people) mattan de (give advice).

Literal meaning: A girl who herself could not stay/adapt at her father-in-law (in-laws) house is advising others (how to have good relationship with their in-laws).

In other words, someone who advises others, but does not have have the qualifications or knowledge to give it.
